Catch up on the news so far here.

Emma and James were the couple some viewers didn't expect to go the distance - who can blame them? The couples scenes together were awkward after their somewhat untraditional first meeting, but now they’ve proved the doubters wrong with this exciting news!

The couple have been going strong ever since they were matched and married by relationship experts on the Channel 4 show, and in a recent interview talk turned from not if they’d stay together but starting a family!

Emma said: "I adore James. We have great fun together. We have a very similar outlook on life and similar dreams.”

James added that his wife Emma is, "absolutely great" and that he feels like they will stay together. "We're enjoying each other's company and I think this marriage has got every chance"

On the subject of family Emma said: "James would have kids tomorrow if he could. He's a big family man. I'm the one holding back. But in another year or so, well, one may come along.”

She added that she was excited about their future together! Awww!

This lovely news couldn’t be more of a contrast from Kate and Jason who were also paired on the show. The pair got divorced after only 3 weeks after Jason refused to talk to her, didn’t show for meetings arranged by the show and perhaps most shocking of all was found to be active on Tinder!

We may have been sceptical at first, but it seems ‘Married At First Sight’ really worked for these two lovebirds and anything that helps people find love is ok with us!

Congratulations James and Emma, we're so pleased for you.

Move over Little Mix and 1D, a recent survey has revealed our favourite bands – and you don’t even get a look in!

The survey looked at over 8,000 peoples dating profiles who chose to enter a favourite band and revealed the most popular choice and genres, comparing it against age, gender, location and even income to reveal which bands will make your dating profile more attractive.

The results?

You’ve got to come ready to rock!

From classic rock bands like Queen to The Killers and Kings of Leon, rock and roll topped the dating profile charts! We always knew Bon Jovi couldn’t give love a bad name! (sorry we couldn’t help it!) with them taking the number 1 spot, winning the overall most popular band.

  1. Bon Jovi
  2. Kings Of Leon
  3. Take That
  4. Queen
  5. Foo Fighters
  6. U2
  7. The Killers
  8. Adele
  9. Rihanna
  10. Coldplay

Interestingly, people who wrote any of the artists from the top 10 above received significantly more communication requests - 21% more on average!

Not a fan?

If you don't share these music tastes don’t worry - the study also found that the more interesting and in depth the information is you share, the more interest you'll receive. This doesn't have to be your shoe size, or anything else's size, think things like favourite food or breed of dog – this will make your profile stand out!

Musical tastes

Rock and Pop was by far the most popular genre, with 65% of people displaying it on their profile. R&B a distant second with 8%.
So what about by age? People in their 50s are apparently more likely to like Classical and Country music and the older the members get, the more likely they are to report Jazz as their favourite music too - something to think about in the future!
Rap and Hip-Hop showed a different trend, as it is mainly popular with younger people, and as the age bracket increases so too does the number of hip hop fans.

The male, female divide

Rock dominates the favourite bands genre for both men and women, but when it comes to individuals it seems ladies stay loyal, choosing leading female songstresses including the likes of Pink and Adele while men preferred bands fronted by male musicians.

Women:

Take That
Bon Jovi
Kings of Leon
Adele
Rihanna
Pink
The Killers
Queen
Coldplay
Foo Fighters

Men:

Queen
U2
Foo Fighters
Oasis
The Killers
Coldplay
Kings Of Leon
Bon Jovi
Pink Floyd
ACDC

Introducing… The Ladies!

Amy
Stunner alert! This lovely, 20 year-old, green-eyed beauty hails from the vibrant sea-side town of Blackpool, so we’re sure she knows how to enjoy a good night out on the town or a relaxed stroll along the beach with fish & chips and good conversation. The fresh, sea air must do wonders for her hair; it looks softer than Egyptian cotton.

Georgia
How you doing?! As a student from Abbey Wood, London, the sultry 20 year old, Georgia, clearly has an appetite for knowledge and enjoying herself in her spare time (as only students can!). There’s not many pairings better than intellect and a fun personality – Scrabble and some cocktails anyone?

Lisa
A mother of three and looking this well-groomed; tell us your secret, Lisa! They must be angels for you to look that good! Lisa is from Gourock, just a stone’s throw from Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park – stunning views to match a stunning woman!

Corrina
The lovely Corrina comes from Wyverstone in Suffolk and clearly knows how to look good in a bridesmaids dress. If she looks this good as a bridesmaid, just think how breath-taking she’ll look as a bride. Marriage might not be on your mind fellas, but it’s always good to plan ahead!

Introducing... The Gentlemen!

Declan
Well, hello there Declan! Look at that grin – that’s a happy looking chap. Declan hails from the village of Kirkmuirhill in Scotland, so you can expect a rugged accent to go with those rugged good looks. He works in labour and construction, and at 34 years of age is a young buck of a man. Have we already mentioned that smile?

Austen
Bonjour, Austen! We’ve got a cool customer here, and one that enjoys the odd city break too from the looks of things – are we mistaken or is that the Eiffel Tower behind him? From South Glamorgan in Cardiff, Austen has a masters diploma to his name and an athletic physique – he’s ticking boxes left right and centre! Would you let Austen whisk you away to the city of love?

Hassan
Here’s another handsome one. Hassan is a father to one child and lives in Oxford. With a degree to his name and self-employed, we can only assume this one knows a thing or two about providing for himself and his child – that’s a box ticker if we’ve ever seen one!

Andrew
That’s a smart looking bloke! You know what they say about a man in a tie… he wears shirts! Andrew is from Killingworth, Tyne and Wear – we spy a happy Jordy! You definitely won’t be short of things to talk about if you step out for an evening with Andrew; those Jordies are well known for their chatty ways.

... it seems that you need look no further than your daily tube commute home - the London underground is your dating oyster!

You going my way? (Picture: Just 1 Snap/Flickr cc)

Finding love in London can be tough - busy lifestyles and cramped, exasperated commuters on equally exasperated public transport doesn’t sound like the beginning of a timeless love story.

But, a new survey has revealed which London stations have the best ratios of single ladies to men, and vice versa to give you a head start. The survey was carried out using geo-location technology at all 153 London Underground stations, giving a complete picture of the capital’s dating scene.

According to the findings, those looking for a single lady would be well advised to take the Westbound platform towards Goldhawk Road, where there’s four single ladies for every single man. Single men though on the other hand are most likely to be found around East London's DLR line - after all Pudding Mill Lane in Stratford is home to 4.6 male daters for every female.
The highest overall number of singletons are, of course, found in central London, with Liverpool St. the overall hotspot for single men, and Piccadilly Circus home to the most single women.
The tactics of one commuter will only get you so far.... (pic credit Metro)

Kermit & Miss Piggy in happier times.

First Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards, now another showbiz 'power couple' have announced their conscious uncoupling... Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.

We feel we need to say a few words after our favourite puppet pig and frog have announced that they are no longer in a relationship.

The announcement that came via Facebook said the decision had been difficult and had followed 'thoughtful consideration'. Over the decades we have witnessed 'The Muppets' stars Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy fight and make up in episodes and movies, but we never thought they’d officially announced their separation…

The pair wrote on Facebook: "After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship.

And added, "Our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al.”

Ouch!

The former showbiz pair seem to be surprisingly amicable following the split, but whilst Piggy was coy, Kermit was keen to make it clear that he was not the one who initiated the decision to cut the strings.

He said in a separate statement; "It's an interesting thing that happens sometimes - you're with someone for years, and you suddenly discover that you have gone in two different directions.”

News of the shocking split comes just weeks before the debut of the new Muppets sitcom… so hopefully things won't be too tense on set!

Miss Piggy first announced the pair were engaged to be 1979, and although they never technically married, like Ross & Rachel, Posh & Becks, Super Man & Lois Lane before them, we simply can’t imagine one without the other.

We don’t think this will be the last we hear on the matter… but in the meantime we wish them all the happiness in the world.

Given the choice of an alpha-male such as 007 or 'The Big Bang Theory's' geek Leonard, the majority of women... certainly that we've spoken to, would only reply with Bond.

Why? Well despite being dashingly good looking and saving the world he also has confidence - one of the most attractive qualities a person can posses.

So, we've come up with 7 tips and tricks on becoming an alpha-male just like Bond - these tips will help you improve your allure in no time!

Eye contact
A confident man holds his gaze. Don't be afraid to try to hold it for a little longer than feels comfortable at first. It won't take long before this habit becomes the norm for you and it stops feeling odd. When you do look away, make sure its not down at your feet as that's a clear sign of submission.

Scent
Always smell nice and no we don't mean musky! Wear a distinctive aftershave that suits you (ask your friends or family if you don't know which brand suits you best). Don't put too much on though, just enough so when you walk past someone they double take, not choke!

Don't ramble
Talk slowly, clearly and with purpose. Make every word count, and if your telling a story leave pauses to build up suspense. Nervous people tend to ramble and talk too fast.

Get your swag on
Walk like you totally own the place no matter where you are. No skulking or shuffling, instead strut your stuff like Mick Jagger on stage! Head up, straight back, swagger and ooze confidence.

Dominant
If you want to ask a girl to dance, avoid; 'Can I dance with you?' and try something friendly like 'Come on, this song's brilliant let's dance!'... it's not a command but is harder to say no to.
Also after a dates gone well and you're getting great vibes, don't ask 'can I kiss you' (how very 1950s...) instead lean in for a peck and go from there. If you don't get a reaction leave it there, if she leans in there is no harm in trying for more.

Open body language
Like your new swagger, if you feel comfortable and confident you'll come across that way (even if inside your nervous). Stay in control by looking and acting relaxed - which means no crossed legs or arms. Instead have an open body language at all times.

Smirk
Think about cheeky Robbie Williams and the smirk he has. Women love it! James Bond, again never pulls a cheesy teeth bearing smile, more a sultry half smile. Practise practise practise!

You might feel embarrassed trying some of these tips at first but its worth the effort to become more confident. Now all you need to do is get over to Flirtify and arrange a date....
