Best Places to Date in Liverpool

Named as Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool is jam-packed with museums, galleries, restaurants, music venues….just about every sort of arts and culture outlet you could think of. Meaning that if you’re planning a date you’ll be spoilt for choice! We’ve picked out just a few of the city’s date perfect venues…

1) Cocktails at Alma de Cuba

Set inside the conversion of the former St.Peter's Catholic Church, Alma de Cuba is Liverpool’s most spectacular restaurant and bar. It’s a rich and eclectic mix of Cuba, Hispanic and Latin American influences – serving delicious food and innovative cocktails inspired by South America and the Caribbean.
Its buzzing atmosphere and grand setting makes it the ideal place for first date cocktails. We’d recommend the Lycheetini; from the ‘Alma Creations’ menu it’s an exotic mix of Finlandia vodka, lychee syrup, banana liqueur, pineapple juice and a sherbet and popping candy rim. But to be honest, they're all pretty great - so make sure you order up some food to avoid first date drunkeness!

2) Liverpool Museum

A great rainy day date! The Liverpool Museum, sits in the centre of Liverpool’s waterfront, and is the most visited museum in the country (outside of London!). Exhibiting Liverpool’s history through the ages, it explores how “the port, its people, and their creative and sporting history have shaped the city.”
3) Afternoon Tea at Panoramic 34

Set 300 feet above sea level on the 34th floor of the west tower, Panoramic 34 offers 360 degree views of Liverpool – making for a stunning dining experience (and that’s just based on the view!) We’d recommend going for the Luxury Afternoon Tea, with delicious finger sandwiches, beautiful pastries and a glass of Perrier-Jouet Blason Rose.
It’s a little on the pricey side, but for a special occasion (or if you just feel like going fancy!) you can’t beat it.

4) FACT: Foundation for Art & Creative Technology

FACT is the UK’s leading media arts centre; with weird and wonderful exhibitions all year round and screenings of both alternative and mainstream films, it’s the perfect date venue. Providing plenty of conversation!
There's also a few options for food and drink, whether you just want to stop for a cup of tea or grab a pre-cinema glass of wine. AND you can take your drinks into the screens too!  FACT is far better than your average cinema date and well worth a visit even if you don’t have a date in tow!

5) A Walk along Crosby Beach

Stretching 3 miles from the Seaforth Dock to the estuary of the River Alt, Crosby Beach is a beautiful location for stroll. Pack a picnic hamper and head out on a sunny day to enjoy the scenery at its best; or if you’re feeling adventurous get the bikes out! The Beach has cycle paths that offer a leisurely ride.

Liverpool has so much to offer, and there are hundreds of places that we haven't been able to try out yet! We'd love to hear your recommendations in the comments below...
