So we’ve established we’re not against the odd fib or three when it comes to dating. After all a recent study revealed a whopping 61% of us tell fibs on a first date.
The UK wide study revealed we’re happy to get a tad
creative with things like our age, occupation and even our names in a bid to
impress someone new.
But just who lies and what do they lie about?
We looked at areas of the UK and what they were most
likely to lie about…

We can’t say we were by things like age and occupation,
but we were when we read that people from England lie
about where they were born! With beautiful, idyllic places like
Cambridge, York, Newcastle we just can’t understand why so many of us try to
brush our hometowns under the rug!
So who's ashamed of where they live?
Well we looked at where people are most and least likely to lie about
being from in a bid to fathom those who are proud, and those who appear to be,
well, not as proud of where they are from…

You might think a brummy accent would be difficult to
disguise, but Birmingham is amongst the top places that
people deny coming from alongside Bradford, Leicester, Preston and Hull.
